Black Friday
Yes, I was one of those crazy people out shopping in the wee hours of the morning.
I've never been shopping on Black Friday, and probably never will again.
I've been looking for a laptop, and thought today would be the best to get it.
Left the house at 3:30 and went to two different Wal-Mart's, only to find out that all the, affordable, laptops had been sold.
Our last resort was Best Buy. As we walked in, Kim found a penny, on heads.
We found out that all the laptops were sold out, until we heard the manager yelling for the police to break up a group of people that were selling tickets. We lucked out!
I got a Toshiba Satellite L500.
I was worn out by the time we got home at 10am.

Technical Difficulties : Finepix S9100
Lastnight, I took pictures of the Yashica with my Fuji S100FS and Fuji S9100.
Later, I downloaded the photos from the S100.
Then I tried downloading the S9100 photos.
Only the camera wouldn't turn on.
I've tried everything:
Changed batteries. Twice.
Cleaned everything.
Checked memory cards.
I have no idea what happened, being that I had just used it maybe two hours earlier.
I emailed Fuji, and they basically told me to mail it in.
Before I take those extreme, and expensive, measures, I am taking it to Ritz Camera tomorrow, for a diagnosis.
I am not happy, and have been down in the dumps all day about it.
I will give an update when more news becomes available.

Yashica IC Lynx-14E
My grandmommy is a big thrift store shopper, a good one too.
I asked her a few months ago to try to find old cameras while she was out hunting.
She found this 1968, vintage, Yashica IC Lynx-14E today. (Okay, 1968 isn't vintage for some of my readers : )
Her five dollar bargain included: The camera, it's case, a SunPak external flash and an old Polaroid camera case. Not bad!
I was so excited when she brought it home, you would have thought she bought me a brand new Nikon.

After an hour and a half of cleaning it, we ran up to the store to get cheap film to see if my new toy worked.
When I took it back to get the roll of film developed, there were some problems.
Only three pictures could be salvaged.
Apparently the film was rolled too tight, and cheap film, is not for older models.
But just for a test run, I think they are pretty good.
And mind you, I had no idea what I was doing. I've never even used a regular film camera.
(The external flash was used for the last two pictures)
Not sure where the line is coming from in the first picture horizontally, and the second, vertically. Also some red spots on two and three, maybe from film issues or flash?

If anyone has any info on this camera, I would greatly appreciate your knowledge,
Thanks!

Fiddlin' Pig
After the day trip at Biltmore, we searched and searched for a barbeque restaurant.
We came across the Fiddlin' Pig, last minute.
The environment was wonderful. Live bluegrass, families eating together, cameras snappin', dancin', and shoe tappin'.
I don't usually take my camera into restaurants to take pictures, but this was an exception.
The food was exceptionally good. I had grape Nehi to drink too.
I would go back and I highly recommend it. But you may want to call ahead if you know you're going, we had to wait about 40 minutes for a seat. But it's very worth the wait, and you are entertained.
