Happy Halloween

My mom and I made this wreath two years ago.

We spray painted a muscadine vine, wreath, black.
Then made swirls out of green, purple, silver, white, and orange pipe cleaners and added them, along with the big sized color cotton balls, to the wreath with a hot glue gun.

I wrapped extra pipe cleaners around a gold wreath hanger.

Crow Upon Airboat

I took this two summers ago down in the Everglades.

Before the airboat took off, this crow landed in front of me.
I snapped only these two shots, with my still broken camera, and quickly put it away.

The driver of the boat told us that the person sitting in the front left seat of the boat, would get the wettest. That is of course where I was sitting, and he was very right.

Angle-Wing Katydid

Katydids (Tettigoniidae), are also known as long-horned grasshoppers and bush-crickets.
They are commonly mistaken for grasshoppers, but are in fact more closely related to crickets.
The males, and some females, produce a sound by stridulation.

I found this Angle-Wing (Microcentrum), Friday, perfectly content on a chair outside.

Shortly after I found this spider, a bee flew into it's web. It was so scary but fascinating to watch this spider spin it's web around the doomed bee. It finished within a matter of seconds. I wish I had gotten a video.

My mom and I, took a short day trip to Daniel Stowe Botanical Garden in Belmont, North Carolina this weekend.
