I was wishing I had my camera.
Then I remembered that I had my little i631 Polaroid in my purse.
I carry it in case of 'emergency photo-ops'. This was the first time I had to use it for something like this, and I was blown away with the gorgeous results!

HERE WE GO! You are starting to show us something. You are developing your "EYE" and it is so nice to watch this happen.
There are many different styles of photography and reasons for capturing images. A photojournalist has a distinct mission and his craft can differ greatly from a Ansel Adams landscape. The connection to them both is that they "know" what composes a good photograph. After that though... they have to developed past "snapshots." Anybody can point the camera at a pretty flower. But you have to "see" the image in order to capture it properly.
The composition, shadows and color in the first three is nice. The vignetting adds value for me here. I love the shallow DOF of the little green fly. But the fourth one- the "lily starburst" really gets into it. Your composition here is very nice.
FInd the macro setting for your cameras and bury that lens deep as you can. You will be amazed at the results. Look up Georgia O'Keefe and look at her paintings of flowers. You'll find inspiration in that. http://www.georgiaokeefe.com/art.shtml
Here is a link to a gallery I had started for an online store. My portfolio will be availabel soon... this was a test run. But you can see some of my "flower work" as it may be.
